A Sleepy Hollow Mad-Libs
It was a quiet, [Adjective] autumn evening in the town of Sleepy Hollow. The town’s schoolmaster, a tall, thin man named Ichabod Crane, was on his way home from a [Noun] at the Van Tassel farm. His [Adjective] horse, Gunpowder, clip-clopped along the lonely road.
Ichabod was a firm believer in the supernatural. As he rode, he imagined [Plural Noun] jumping out from behind the trees, their [Plural Noun] glowing in the dark. He thought of the famous ghost of the town, the Headless Horseman, a [Adjective] soldier who rode out every night in search of his head.
Suddenly, Ichabod heard a [Sound] behind him. He looked back and saw a huge, dark figure on a [Adjective] horse. The figure had no head! Ichabod’s heart began to [Verb] in his chest. He kicked Gunpowder, and the horse took off like a [Noun].
The Headless Horseman was right behind him, holding his [Noun] up high. Ichabod raced toward the church bridge, as it was said that the ghost could not cross it. Just as he reached the bridge, the Headless Horseman threw his [Noun] at Ichabod’s head!
The next morning, all that was found was a shattered pumpkin and Ichabod Crane’s [Adjective] hat. Some say he was carried off by the Headless Horseman, but others say he simply packed his things and became a famous [Occupation] in a faraway town.
